Greatest Games, Worst Endings
So, I just "finished" Fallout 3 - by finished, I mean I completed the main quest, there's still plenty else to do though I think I did most of the good stuff - and I have to say... for all it's hyped up attention to detail, the ending was freakin WEAK.
So I guess Fallout 3 really is "all about the journey"... I sunk a solid 45-50 hours in the game (35-40 of it on side quests and exploring), and had an absolute blast, but after all of that time invested I was hoping for something more than what we were given. And reading around the Net, the only difference between my ending and someone who went the evil route(s) were a few pictures and dialogue tweaks. Not even worth a replay to see the alternative endings.
To me, weak endings usually signal laziness - or to ensure a sequel. We know Fallout 4 in inevitable though, and the characters aren't reused, so why not do something awesome?
What other games have you played where the ending just didn't live up to expectations? And for those who played FO3 - am I being too harsh?

At least the action at the end made you feel like you accomplished something. We played through on Veteran the first time through which made it tough but not overwhelming. Freakin ending though... ugh.
